This tried and true formula has been changing the way women look for 50 years. Formula 50 contains protein and vitamin B-6 to support healthy hair and strong, shiny nails. The unique blend of natural amino acids nourishes and replenishes the nutrients most commonly lacking in a womans diet that can cause brittle, splitting, peeling nails and thinning hair. Protein and vitamins are needed for healthy hair and nails. Proteins are the building unit while Vitamin B6 is used for protection of peripheral nerves by enhancing proteins synthesis. Customer Reviews: 0 of 0 found this review helpful: Marlyn Formula 50 really works, 2008-06-02 This is the one supplement product I've used that has given me clear results -- and not just me. My mother (she's 85 now) began complaining in her 50s that her nails had become really weak and brittle. In fact, they were separating and shredding, and snagging on everything. A doctor recommended Formula 50, and she got relief within a couple of weeks. I didn't think much about it -- my nails have always been really strong and healthy, and I figured my mother was just different, she'd been a sickly child... I'll always be young, that kind of thing. When I was about 53, suddenly my nails began breaking. Took me a while to admit that maybe the same thing was happening to me... So I started taking this product, and my nails got strong again. And now I even have experimental results -- on those rare occasions when I forget to order in a timely way and go a week or two without it, I see the weakening in my nails within a couple of weeks. And then it goes away! (I feel sure my hair is better than it would be without this supplement, too, though I have no similar proof.) Now, the balance. My mother is finding, at her age, that the product no longer works so well. Age has the last word, I guess... And the other downside: these "softgels" are a deep red in color and have a fragrance. The soybean oil, gelatin, glycerin, lecithin, and beeswax are all fine with me, but I could do without the Polysorbate 80 and the titanium dioxide and the FD&C red #40 and blue #1. I keep meaning to write and suggest this. We have many chapion show dogs with long hair. We give this product to them in their food. My wife also uses it. Seller also delivered the product on time and as advertised.
